July 11th
Bartell Theatre | Evjue Stage
4:00pm Jam
Amalgam Improv is celebrating two years of independent improv in Madison with a full evening of comedy at Bartell Theatre’s Evjue Stage on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The celebration begins with a 4:00pm improv jam, giving performers and curious newcomers a chance to play, connect, and be part of the community before the shows begin. Amalgam started with a simple idea: independent improv teams deserve more places to perform, experiment, and be seen. Two years later, that idea has grown into shows, jams, workshops, fusion shows of arts and science with improv comedy, and a welcoming home for Madison improvisers at every level.
The evening continues with two different improv performances included with one ticket. At 6:00pm, the Improv Power-Hour will showcase multiple Madison improv teams and the range of styles, voices, and formats that have grown through Amalgam’s independent improv comedy scene. At 7:30pm, Big Honey will perform I’mProv==>YourProv, a story-inspired improv show where a special guest shares real stories that fodder for improv.
This anniversary is more than a birthday party. It is a chance for audiences who may be new to Amalgam to see what independent improv in Madison has become: playful, surprising, collaborative, and full of people building something together. Get your $20 tickets on the Bartell Theatre website.
