Improv nerds know that Harold is one of the most divisive formats out there. It is often maligned for being overly complicated, hyper-structured, and not, necessarily, "audience friendly". Throwing a Game of the Scene lens into the format often makes it even more of a challenge! And yet, the Harold persists because of its effectiveness at unlocking pure improv potential, pushing performers out of their comfort zones and into new dimensions of creativity and imagination (there's a reason, after all, for the improv adage that "to be a great improviser, you need to do 100 Harolds"!). Participants should have completed at least one (ideally two or more) Upright Citizens Brigade-style Game of the Scene courses in addition to bringing broader, foundational improv experience (i.e., 3 or more courses and/or 2+ years of consistent practice and performance). If you've already taken the GOTS Harold and might be interested in jumping in again, know that this latest iteration will offer more time for reps, longer class times, and a special, new section of study for Thematic Harolds :) Otherwise, if you have questions about enrollment, feel free to email michael.g.hartwell@gmail.com
